An excellent method is the use of hypnotism or self- hypnosis. Putting yourself into a state of meditation with a suggestion of remembering all you study or that which you study will come to mind easily when needed is also excellent.

I was told to study right before I went to bed. That way what I had studied would be what was on my mind and would stick in there.

The way to memorize best is to study for 15 minutes, and rest (do something unrelated to study) for 5 minutes, and then repeat. Use a timer if you must. You learn better if you do it that way, because your short term memory is about 15 minutes and it takes a few minutes for your long term memory to become fixed. Keep studying until you can rattle off whatever it is you are learning with ease.

Study early in the morning and before you go to bed; I've heard different theories about which time is best to study. There are no distractions in the morning, and your mind is fresh. On the other hand, your memory gets fixed while you sleep, so you are likely to remember what you did before bed. It's probably best to study at both times.

Eat when you're hungry (only healthy food, though), drink lots of water, and get plenty of sleep. If you aren't on vitamins, start taking a multivitamin. No caffeine, alcohol, or junk food! This might not be too popular, but try to cut back on sex too, because that consumes lots of energy and nutrients.

For the exam, get lots of rest and do keep your diet and exercise program consistent through the time of the exams. Any sudden change could mess with your concentration.

Speaking of concentration, study in complete silence. Some people believe music helps them study, but I think that's completely false unless you're studying for a music appreciation class. TV is even worse.

Good luck!

When I went back to law school in my 30s I ate lots of tuna fish, took up regular exercise (3-5 times a week) and took multiple vitamins and B12.

I also invested in some study guides, including the site below.

I don't really care for any of the supplements out there that are advertised to help with stuff like this. Get your 8 hours of sleep a night and get your omega3s and you should see some improvement.
